Words From Our Late Pastor Emeritus

 Emeritus James C. Carrington Jr.

(2/8/1945 - 2/21/2026)

A Final Message of Love and Gratitude from Our Beloved Pastor Emeritus

It was a great honor and privilege to serve as your pastor for over 42 years and to continue serving as Pastor Emeritus for an additional 5 years under the leadership of your Senior Pastor. For 47 years, God blessed me with the opportunity to shepherd His people, preach His Word, witness lives being transformed, and be a part of the wonderful things He accomplished through this ministry.
As I reflect on this incredible journey, my heart is filled with gratitude. Thank you for your love, prayers, support, and faithfulness throughout the years. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives, your families, your celebrations, and even your difficult seasons. It has truly been a blessing to serve you, and the memories we have shared will forever remain a treasured part of my legacy.
Though I have now departed this earthly life, I am absent from the body and present with the Lord. My earthly assignment has been completed, and I have entered into the presence of the One I faithfully served. While my physical presence may be missed, the love, faith, wisdom, and spiritual foundation established over these 47 years will continue to live on.
To the congregation I love, I encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith, united in love, and committed to the work of the Lord. Continue to support your Senior Pastor, stand together in unity, and keep moving forward in the vision God has given this ministry. Do not allow my passing to cause you to lose heart, but let it remind you of the importance of continuing the work God has entrusted to you.
I believe this ministry's greatest days are still ahead. God has great things in store for the future—things beyond what our eyes can see and our minds can imagine. Continue to trust Him, follow His leading, and make room for all He desires to do through you.
As I look back over 47 years of faithful service, I can truly say that it has been a privilege to serve God and His people. My prayer is that the seeds planted, the souls encouraged, the lives touched, and the foundation laid will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
Though I am no longer here to stand in the pulpit, my labor of love will live on through the ministry we built together. My voice may be silent, but the Word of God will continue to speak. My earthly journey has ended, but the work of the Lord must go on.
Thank you for allowing me the honor of serving as your pastor for 42 years and as your Pastor Emeritus for another 5. I leave you with love, gratitude, and the assurance that God is faithful. Keep the faith, hold on to the vision, love one another, and continue to build upon the foundation that has been laid.
Until we meet again in the presence of our Lord, may His grace sustain you, His love surround you, and His Spirit guide you.
With a grateful heart and a legacy of faith,

Your Beloved Pastor Emeritus
